About
About the music festival
The Wakayama International Music Festival is more than just a concert; it's a groundbreaking music festival that combines a music competition with international performances. Participants have the opportunity to not only showcase their talent but also compete for prestige.
With high-quality stage performances and strong support from Wakayama City Hall, our goal is to inspire and delight music lovers. The diverse musical performances presented by participants from various countries will ignite the audience's desire to explore the world of music more deeply.
Outstanding award winners will be offered the opportunity to perform with an orchestra. To make the transmission of music even more vibrant, we aim to bring young talent to the world stage.

CONCEPT
To expand the circle of music
I love classical music and want to share its beauty with as many people as possible.
We are doing our utmost to share the wonderful charm of classical music with as many people as possible. With this in mind, we offer the opportunity to perform with an orchestra to the winners of our competitions. We believe that the experience of young musicians shining on a grand stage will contribute to creating a richer future for music.
Furthermore, the international music festival held in Wakayama under the dazzling summer sun is more than just a music celebration; it's a "bridge for cultural exchange." Musicians from all over the world will fill the air with moving melodies, while everyone enjoys Wakayama's beautiful nature and culinary culture.
We promise that this encounter and experience will be fruitful and enriching for everyone who participates.

WAKAYAMA
Kishu, Wakayama City.
Add vibrant colors to your heart.
Wakayama Castle, a symbol of timelessness, stands proudly in the setting sun, a source of pride for this city both then and now.
On the shores of Wakaura, a place beloved since the Manyo era, the sea breeze and the sound of waves gently wash away the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Enjoy the bounty of the sea at the vibrant Kuroshio Market, and immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the daimyo garden, Yosui-en.
This town is like a "ink painting," where history and nature intertwine.
With every step you take, you'll encounter a new story.
